You wake up in a cold sweat and your scar burns with pain. You look at your calendar. Tonight was July 31st. Tonight is your birthday. You are 15 years old tonight. You look at your clock. It is 2:00am. You close your eyes and try to fall a sleep then suddenly you hear a knocking on your window. You go to the window and open it. Your owl Hedwig flies into the room carrying a dead mouse. You stroke her feathers. She nips your hand affectionately. You are worried about the nightmares you have been having. And the fact that your scar hurts is also a bad sign. When your scar hurts it means Voldemort is near by or is feeling very powerful. You know you need to tell someone about your scar. You cannot tell your aunt and uncle. They would never understand and they would never care. There are a few people who could help you. You get out a role of parchment, your quill and ink bottle. But who should you ask for help? Who do you ask for help? b) Sirius Black c) Ron Weasley e) Hagrid
You decide to write to your friend Hagrid. He is smart and maybe he knows something about Curse scars. Hagrid should be able to help you. You get a role of parchment and begin to write.
You finish writing your letter and then you tie the letter to Hedwig's leg. She flies off into the night and you feel much better. You are sure Hagrid can help you. You go and lay on your bed. You are about to go to sleep when a large barn owl flies thru the window. You get up and see that the owl has a letter tied to it's leg. You got and untie the letter. The owl flies off into the night. You see that is has the Hogwarts seal on it. It must be a Hogwarts letter. You open the letter and it says.
You finish reading the letter and for the first time in a long time you feel happy. Quidditch is your favorite thing to do and being made team caption would be a great honor. You put the letter in your trunk and get back into bed. You fall sleep within a few minutes. You wake the next morning. You can hear your aunt cooking breakfast in the kitchen. You get dressed and go downstairs to see what she is cooking. When you enter the kitchen you see your cousin Dudley eating a pile of pancakes. Dudley had been on a diet the year before. Apparently aunt Petunia had given up on the diet. You are glad because aunt Petunia forced you to follow the same diet. This made no sense to you since you were small and skinny and Dudley on the other hand was the size of a baby hippo. Nobody acknowledges your presence so you sit down and help yourself to some toast. Finally your uncle looks at you and says, "Look boy we are taking Dudley to London. We will be leaving you with Mrs. Figg. You are to behave yourself and I forbid you to tell her about your abnormality. If anything funny happens I will knock you into the middle of next week." said Uncle Vernon You are used to threats so this does not bother you. After breakfast you go back to your room. You have a lot of holiday work to do. You are going to be entering your 5th year at Hogwarts. You will be taking your OWL tests this year. You will need to study hard for them. You have three pieces of homework you need to do. But you only have time to do one of them before you have to go to Mrs. Figg's house. What homework do you do?
You decided to do your History of Magic homework. History of Magic was taught by Professor Binns the only ghost professor. His class was very boring and Harry always had trouble staying awake in class. After about an hour and half the essay was written. Just as you finished you hear your uncle screaming your name. You got downstairs where he is waiting for you. "Now remember boy I am warning you. If you say anything to Mrs. Figg about your unspeakable problem there will be hell to pay." said uncle Vernon You are used to this and it does not bother you. Besides most likely you will be looking at pictures of cats for the entire visit like you usually do. You seriously doubt that the topic of magic would come up. When you arrive at Mrs. Figg's house you see her waiting for you at the door. You get out of the car and your uncle drives off without given you a second glance. Mrs. Figg looks at you sympathetically. "Come in Harry." said Mrs. Figg You go inside and notice that her house still smells like cabbages. It sort of reminds you of Mr. Weasley's tent at the Quidditch World Cup. "Would you like something to drink Harry." asked Mrs. Figg You say yes She bring you a glass of juice. She sits down and you take a sip of your drink. It tastes very familiar. The you realize what you are drinking. You are drinking Pumpkin juice. But the only place you got Pumpkin juice was at Hogwarts. You had no idea you could buy the stuff at muggle store. What do you do? a) Ask her where she got the Pumpkin juice b) Wait for her to speak first
You decide to wait for her to speak. You do not wait long. "Harry there is something I have to tell you and I am not sure how to begin. I suppose you are ready to go back to Hogwarts." said Mrs. Figg You are stunned. Mrs. Figg knows about Hogwarts. "Yes Harry I have know about Hogwarts for a long time. I was a student at Hogwarts. My good friend Albus Dumbledore asked me to do a special favor for him. He wanted me to watch over you and keep you safe. I have to admit it has not been easy. There were many times I wanted to turn your cousin Dudley into a toad because of the way he treated you." said Mrs. Figg You smile when you hear that. There were many time you wanted to do the exact same thing. "Harry you have grown into a fine young man and I am very proud of you." said Mrs. Figg You go red and says thank you. You and Mrs. Figg talk for long time about Hogwarts. You tell her all about your Quidditch games and even about your secret crush Cho Chang. Soon your uncle drive into the garage and honks his horn. You thank Mrs. Figg for helping you. "I am always glad to help you Harry." said Mrs. Figg You walk out to your uncle's car and get inside. "I hope nothing strange happened while we were gone." said uncle Vernon "You have nothing to worry about Vernon, Harry is a fine young man." said Mrs. Figg "Then you don't know him very well." said uncle Vernon Uncle Vernon drives off towards the house. "Oh really well then there must be something wrong with her if you like her." said uncle Vernon You tell your uncle that she is a witch. You finish writing your letter and then you tie the letter to Hedwig's leg. She flies off into the night. You feel much better. You are sure Hermione can help you. You lay down on your bed and try to get to sleep. You look at your clock it is now 2:30am. You decide to go to the bathroom before you try and get to sleep. You go to the bathroom and do your business. While you are in the bathroom a feeling of sickness comes over you. You are lucky to be near a toilet because you vomit into it. A few minutes later your stomach is in knots. Why did you get sick like that? Was it something you ate for dinner? Your scar is not hurting you so it could not be Voldemort. You decide to go to the kitchen for some stomachache medicine. Dudley was always getting stomachaches so there was plenty of medicine on hand. When you walk into the kitchen you see something moving in a corner of the kitchen. You stop and then realize that you had left your wand upstairs in your trunk. Your scar burned your head like fire. In fact it was still sore to the touch. You hope Ron answers quickly. While you are looking out the window you see something moving in the garden. At first you don't see anything. Then you see it. A huge black thing coming toward you. Before you can do anything it is on top of you. Suddenly you hear someone calling your name. "Harry are you ok." You look up and it is Sirius Black your Godfather. He was transformed into a giant black dog. That is what you saw from your window. You tell Sirius that he scared the daylights out of you. "Sorry Harry but I felt I had to met with you." said Sirius You tell Sirius about your nightmares and scar hurting and how you sent a letter to Ron. "Harry you are right to be worried. But you should have sent your letter to Dumbledore. He is the one who really needs to know about this. You see he has a parcel tied to his leg. You untie the parcel and then take Errol to Hedwig's cage where you let him get some water to drink. You open the card that is attached to the package. You finish reading the letter and then open the parcel. It is a Chuddley Cannons sweatshirt. The Chuddley Cannons is Ron's favorite Quidditch team. You are glad Ron was good enough to remember your birthday. You would love to go and visit Ron. But then you remember what Dumbledore had told you last year. That he had placed a special charm of protection that as long as you where in your aunt and uncle's care Voldemort could not harm you. What if you left your aunt and uncle? Could Voldemort be able to harm you? Should you write back and tell Ron you cannot come? What do you do?
